Offered as: eLearning, Self-Study, Custom Onsite or Webinar

WHMIS Training & Certification

A training course intended for all workers that work with or in proximity to any hazardous products set out under the Federal and Provincial Regulations.

WHMIS 2015

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System, more commonly known as WHMIS, was updated in 2015 to adhere more to the Globally Harmonized System of Classifications and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), which was developed by the United Nations. Although the old system was updated to improve communication, clarity, and workplace safety, the responsibilities of workers, employers, and suppliers have not changed.

The WHMIS training and certification program provides workers with the information that they need in order to stay safe while using hazardous products. It is extremely important to know how to safely handle hazardous materials because they can cause injuries or diseases in workers if not handled properly. The WHMIS training and certification program teaches you how to identify the product’s hazards and the precautionary measures you should take when using that product by reading the label. You will also be trained how to properly read and interpret safety data sheets, which must be available on every work site that has hazardous products. Data sheets provide more detailed information about the hazards of those products than the labels on the products themselves.

Online & On Site WHMIS Training

At Global Hazmat, we offer both online and on site WHMIS training and certification program that can be taken by anyone who works with or in proximity to any hazardous products, as set out under the Federal and Provincial Regulations.
