As of February 3, 2025, amendments to Part 5 to British Columbia’s Occupational Health and Safety Regulation relating to emergency planning for hazardous substances are now in effect.

The changes to rules around worker participation, hazardous substances inventories and risk assessment, among others, have taken effect. These amendments broaden and enhance existing requirements to minimize risks to workers and other persons posed by emergencies involving hazardous substances.
